| Zehring,
Mary - Flute/Piccolo |
| Mary Zehring, born in Louisville, KY, graduated from
high school in Newark, DE where she played in award winning bands. At
Clarion University, she majored in music education/music marketing.
There she enjoyed playing flute, piccolo, and string bass in bands, orchestra, ensembles, and musical theater. Over
the last few years, Mary has played with the Keystone Band of Rehrersburg,
the Ephrata Community Band and the Washington Band of Annville.
"When I heard the Lebanon Community Concert Band several years ago, I
rediscovered music and how important it is to me, my spirit and soul. I
really like playing the piccolo first of all because I can usually hear
myself over the trumpets, but mainly because it is fun to be the icing on
the cake. I love to do ensemble work and would like to play in an
orchestra again or be a part of a band that goes on tour overseas."
Mary and husband Duane, opened one of the first collectible record stores
in the Lebanon Valley area called the Keystone Music Exchange. They
have a daughter, Jessica. |
