Message from Keith Franz
We are set to resume rehearsals (at long last) under our new director, Keith Richardson, on Wednesday, October 13, at 7:00 P.M. at the Cedar Crest Middle School band room. The Senior Center is not yet able to accept groups of more than 25 so until that policy changes, we will be rehearsing at Cedar Crest. While we recognize that it will not be acceptable to some, the board of directors has unanimously voted to require that you must be fully vaccinated to participate. Please bring proof of vaccination (your vaccination card or a photo of it, e.g. on a cell phone) to the first rehearsal you will attend. If you have, or can get, a bell cover (where appropriate), please bring that also, though this is not a requirement. You will also need to bring a mask with you - the school district requires visitors (us) to wear a mask between the outside door and the band room if there are students in the halls. They are not required in the halls otherwise, and not at all in the band room. There is also no smoking on school grounds.
Our first concert is tentatively planned to be Holiday Notes, hopefully at the usual place and time, though we are awaiting confirmation of that. So if you haven't been playing much, or at all, since we started our forced hiatus in March 2020, now's the time to break your instrument out of hibernation and start to get back in practice. If you know of someone who does not have email, or that I missed in this distribution, please pass this information along to them too. I truly look forward to seeing you all on the 13th.
