Richardson, Keith - Conductor
Keith Richardson has lived in PA all of his life and has taught at Eastern York, Central Dauphin East, and Lower Dauphin. Keith attended LVC for his Music Education degree, continued his education at Duquesne and Messiah University. Keith graduated from Boston University with a DMA in Music Education. Additionally, in 2021 Keith helped to start a community band in the Hummelstown area.
Breen, Ed - Trumpet
Ed Breen is a native of Lebanon who began playing cornet under Fred Erdman's tutelage. He spent his formative music experience under Jim Checkett and R. Leslie Saunders. Ed graduated from Midwestern College of Iowa and attended Lehigh County Community College, then spent 8 years in the U.S. army. When Fred Erdman was asked to organize Lebanon Community Concert Band in 1992, he returned to playing. Ed is currently principal trumpet for LCCB and is a member of the Washington Band of Annville. He has played with the Rehrersburg Band, the Concert band of Blandon, and he plays/solos with Zion U.M. Church Concert Band in Myerstown, Pa. Ed has a son Erik and is married to Stephanie. He is a member of Local 401-750 of the American Federation of Musicians.
Devlin, Rob - trumpet/flugelhorn
Rob was a music major in college and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1975. He entered the service that summer and performed as a trumpeter with the 26th Army Band based in Staten Island, NY. After his discharge in 1978, Rob sought trumpet work around Pittsburgh, but..... reality caught up with him, and so he put away the music thing and established a rewarding 30 plus year career in IT. When Rob stopped working his IT gig in 2014, he picked the trumpet back up and started playing with volunteer concert bands in the area. He has enjoyed playing regularly with the LCCB since 2014.
Weidman, Jessica - Vocalist
Jessica Weidman is a classically trained Lyric Soprano with a four octave range. Her beautiful voice, warm and witty personality, and rare ability to sing “crossover” concerts keep her in constant demand here and abroad. She has always enjoyed singing. With the study of voice and the “Bel Canto” method, she has acquired the ability to perform in many genres. Jessica performs Opera, Broadway, Classical, Gospel and Spirituals, and with this repertoire she always has something to please everyone.
Over the past 15 years, she has been a featured soloist with various symphonies, at numerous conventions, and many religious gatherings. Jessica has also been featured with professional choirs, Opera professionals and local community concerts with a little time off to perform the role of “Dolly Levi” in the famous musical “Hello Dolly” for sold out performances and which she received rave reviews.
Jessica has done a number of concert tours in the UK since 2008. She performed in venues from St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburg to the Royal Concert Hall of Glasgow, Scotland. The concerts, which were fundraisers for the Children’s Hospice of Glasgow and Strathcarron Hospice, netted over $150,000 for the children’s hospice and $4000 for Strathcarron Hospice. In the summer of 2012, she was a guest soloist with Movement Laboratory in a theatrical tour of Paris and Nice, France as a music ambassador for the United Nations and she has just returned from her 15th musical tour of Scotland and her second of Ireland where she brought in more than $2000 for charity.
Jessica has recorded two CD’s, “My Soul Waits For The Lord” (an anthology of 13 spiritual songs), and “Unforgettable” (a collection of 11 nostalgic songs). Both can be purchased at various sites including on-line at Itunes and Spotify as well as through Jessica’s website: Jessicaweidman.com. She can also be heard on Pandora Internet Radio and numerous internet radio stations.
Zehring, Mary - Flute/Piccolo
Mary Zehring, born in Louisville, KY, graduated from high school in Newark, DE where she played in award winning bands. At Clarion University, she majored in music education/music marketing. There she enjoyed playing flute, piccolo, and string bass in bands, orchestra, ensembles, and musical theater. Over the last few years, Mary has played with the Keystone Band of Rehrersburg, the Ephrata Community Band and the Washington Band of Annville. "When I heard the Lebanon Community Concert Band several years ago, I rediscovered music and how important it is to me, my spirit and soul. I really like playing the piccolo first of all because I can usually hear myself over the trumpets, but mainly because it is fun to be the icing on the cake. I love to do ensemble work and would like to play in an orchestra again or be a part of a band that goes on tour overseas." Mary and husband Duane, opened one of the first collectible record stores in the Lebanon Valley area called the Keystone Music Exchange.
Erdman, Timothy - Conductor, retired
Timothy Erdman is a graduate of Temple University, Valley Forge Military College and Lebanon High School, Lebanon, PA. Born and raised in Lebanon, he learned trumpet from his father, Fred Erdman, a highly esteemed musician and band director. He also studied with Allen Dean, Faculty Trumpet Professor at Yale University; Lloyd Geisler, Principal Trumpet, National Symphony; and Frank Kaderabek, Principal Trumpet, Philadelphia Orchestra. After obtaining his B.S. degree in 1970, Mr. Erdman was immediately accepted into the cornet section of the world-famous United States Marine Band, “The President’s Own,” where he served under Presidents Nixon, Ford and Carter.
After nearly ten years with the U.S. Marine Band, he went on to play principal trumpet for the Harrisburg Symphony and in chamber ensembles throughout the area, including lead trumpet stints for groups like The Four Tops and The Temptations. From 1988-2005 Mr. Erdman taught trumpet as a member of several college music faculties: Millersville University, Lancaster Bible College, Messiah College and Lebanon Valley College. Since 2001 he has been conductor of the Lebanon Community Concert Band. He recently retired from the 553rd Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic, serves as the secretary-treasurer of Local 135-211, Reading, PA chapter of The American Federation of Musicians, and is a member of Lebanon Local 401-750. A self-employed writer and musician, he runs his own marketing communications business, Writers Block Inc. He is married to Carolyn Erdman, who was the featured accordionist with our band.
